General information
The creation of the expert committee was authorized by the executive board in a meeting on January 20, 2003. It is meant to play a primary mediating role to coordinate immunological education between the individual universities and faculties.  Its foundation took place on December 5, 2003, in Salzburg on the occasion of the annual general assembly in 2003.

Objective
Harmonization of educational contents at all Austrian universities where immunology is taught.
Creation of additional measures to educate immunologists and ensure their accreditation.

Activities so far
Gerhard Zlabinger has created a prototype of a scipt that is internet-based and can be accessed via www.ilo.at. The script is the basis with which the 3-hour long (academic hours) introduction to immunology within block 4 of the new medical curriculum at the Medical University of Vienna is taught. It was presented for the first time this summer term using this script. The reactions  of both lecturers and students were excellent.

The approval of ÖGAI by the Austrian Academy of Doctors as accredited organizer is completed. This means that attendance at events of ÖGAI will automatically generate DFP points for accreditation for specialists in the future.

Active participation in the European curricula for European specialists in immunology, allergology and clinical immunology. These curricula were completed in 2004 by the corresponding sections of UEMS and can be downloaded as a pdf file via the following link:

- Allergologie
