Karl Landsteiner Prize for basic research in Immunology

For the year 2020 the  Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology has been given the opportunity to offer a prize of Euro 4.000 donated by the Karl Landsteiner & Eisler-Terramare Foudation Commemoration Trust and the ÖGAI for excellent publications in the field of basic immunology research.

To apply for this prize one publication per scientist can be handed in, if s/he is the first author (including first co-authorship) and if molecular and/or cellular-immunological/immuno-pathological subjects are dealt with. Publications in the field of clinical immunology can be considered, if they primarily deal with basic immunological questions. The publications must be published within the last two years in renowned scientific journals with a strict review system and have to in total or at least predominantly been realized at an Austrian institution. Publications must have neither received an award previously nor be used to apply for a prize concurrently. Repeat applications are not allowed. The applicant must be a member of the Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology.

The applications need to be received no later than June 30 2020.

The publication including a scan of personally signed letter of agreement of the co-authors as well as a short CV has to be sent as one single pdf document (reduced size) to the following address: In case a reviewer is asking for a print version, we will contact you.

The executive board of the Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology grants the prize based on recommendations by international experts. A splitting of the prize is not intended, the prize is awarded directly to the applicant. 

The prize will be awarded within the frame-work of the ÖGAI Meeting 2020.
