Clemens von Pirquet Prize for Allergy Research


For the year 2018 the Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology has been given the opportunity to offer a prize of Euro 4.000 generously donated by Bencard for the most excellent publication in the field of allergy research. The award which is named 'Clemens von Pirquet Prize - Prize for Allergy Research' in memory of the creator of the term allergy, is awarded within the frame-work of the annual general assembly of the Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology. The following conditions must be met to apply for the award:

Scientific publications on experimental or clinical allergology, that were written in Austria and that were published within the last two years in renowned scientific journals with a strict review system can be awarded with the prize. Experimental publications should show a clear reference to clinical questions. These publications must have neither received an award previously nor be used to apply for a prize concurrently. Repeat applications are not allowed. The applicant must be a member of the Austria Society for Allergology and Immunology and can present only one publication for consideration. The applicant has to be the first author (including first co-authorship).

The applications need to be received no later than June 30, 2018.

The publication including a scan of personally signed letter of agreement of the co-authors as well as a short CV has to be sent as one single pdf document (reduced size) to the following address:  office@oegai.org. In case a reviewer is asking for a print version, we will contact you.

The executive board of the Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology grants the prize based on recommendations by international experts. A splitting of the prize is not intended,  the prize is awarded directly to the applicant.

The prize will be awarded within the frame-work of the ÖGAI Meeting 2018.
