Please find below a list of current large-scale projects, that are being financed by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). A more detailed description of contents and goals of the individual large-scale projects may be found on the individual home pages (see links).

 

SPECIAL RESEARCH PROGRAMS (SFB)

The aim of the special research projects is to create research networks on an international scale by means of autonomous concentration on one university location,  under certain circumstances also more than one, plus the creation of extraordinarily efficient, closely linked research units working on in general inter- and/or multi disciplinary longterm complex research topics. Details regarding requirements and granting of funds

DOCTORAL PROGRAMS (DK):

Doctoral programs are meant to be centers of education fo highly qualified young scientists from the national and international scientific community. The program should support centers of excellence at Austrian research institutions and help ensure the continuity and impact of such centers.
