MISSION STATEMENT

The Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology represents all scientists and medical doctors, that are interested in the physiology and pathophysiology of the immune system as well as clinical presentation, diagnostics and therapy of all diseases related to the immune system.

The main goals of the ÖGAI are:

to decrease the burden of immune-mediated diseases for the individual as well as society in general

to improve therapy and preventative options for treating immune-mediated diseases

This is the reason why ÖGAI promotes both basic and applied research as well as the clinical implementation thereof.

Furthermore, ÖGAI supports excellence in education and clinical experience in the fields of allergology and immunology and sees itself as a facilitator of knowledge transfer as well as a point of contact for laymen, public authorities and experts to obtain specific information about the immune system and its numerous ways to malfunction such as allergy, autoimmunity, and immunodeficiency.
