Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the Austrian Society for Allergology and Immunology (ÖGAI) I cordially invite you to participate in the ÖGAI Annual Meeting 2010 which will take place in Vienna from December 3-5, 2010.
We have invited to our Annual Meeting also the members of the corresponding societies of Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia in order to foster scientific and social interactions between the members of our societies.
The program of the Meeting will cover basic and clinical immunology, infectious diseases, immune intervention as well as basic and clinical allergology. Outstanding keynote speakers will present their data during plenary sessions. In addition there will be the opportunity to meet experts in the field and to discuss with them various hot topics of immunology and allergology in small sessions. Please submit your best abstracts to be selected for oral presentation or poster awards.
The Meeting will take place in the lecture center of the Vienna General Hospital, AKH which is well equipped to host a successful meeting. Vienna is a multicultural city in the heart of Europe offering numerous cultural opportunities. I trust that you will be also able to enjoy the beautiful and romantic flair of the city before Christmas and to meet your colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere.

- Vierter Europäischer Immunologie Kongress 2015 in Wien ↓↓
- Vom 13.-16. September 2009 fand der 2. Europäische Kongress für Immunologie (ECI) in Berlin statt. Der ECI 2009 stand unter dem Motto ‚Immunity for Life – Immunology for Health' und wurde unter den Auspizien der European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Immunologie (DGFI) ausgerichtet. Dieser Europäische Immunologiekongress findet alle drei Jahre statt. Der ECI 2009 wurde von mehr als 5.000 TeilnehmerInnen aus über 80 Staaten der Welt besucht. Über 3500 wissenschaftliche Beiträge wurden eingereicht .
Anlässlich des zweiten ECI in Berlin wurde auch der Austragungsort für den vierten Kongress dieser Art im Jahre 2015 ermittelt. Im Namen der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Immunologie (ÖGAI) hat Univ. Prof. Winfried F. Pickl ein bid für den ECI 2015 in Wien ausgearbeitet. Prof. Pickl vom Institut für Immunologie und Univ. Doz. Barbara Bohle, Institut für Pathophysiologie der Medizinischen Universität Wien haben das bid in Berlin vorgestellt und verteidigt. Weitere Mitbewerber waren die Scandinavian-, Czech- und Turkish-Societies for Immunology mit Kopenhagen, Prag bzw. Istanbul als vorgeschlagene Austragungsorte. Mit großer Mehrheit wurde der Standort Wien und die ÖGAI als federführende organisierende Gesellschaft für den ECI 2015 von den Vertretern der EFIS sowie der nationalen, europäischen Immunologie-Gesellschaften gewählt.
Die Austragung des 4. Europäischen Immunologie Kongresses in Wien wird die immunologisch-allergologische Forschung in Österreich als internationalen wissenschaftlichen Standort nachdrücklich stärken und rückt diesen in den Mittelpunkt des Interesses der internationalen immunologischen Gesellschaften und deren Mitglieder.
Wir gratulieren Prof. Winfried Pickl und Univ. Doz. Barbara Bohle zu dem grossen Erfolg und danken für den aussergewöhnlichen Einsatz!
